Sen. Kevin Lundberg, R-Berthoud, appeals to his colleagues across the aisle to support his proposal to repeal the most onerous parts of the car tax, which was passed by the legislature last year.
The quarter billion dollar car tax raised the cost of vehicle registration and imposed an up-to $100 late fee. Coloradans were outraged by the increased cost.
"At a time when families are pinching pennies to put food on the table every dollar counts," Lundberg said. "This car tax could not have come at a worse time."
Lundberg's bill will be heard at 1:30 today in the Senate State, Veterans and Military Affairs Committee.
Also running bills to roll back parts of the car tax are Republican Sens. Bill Cadman and Al White.
